2019-2020 Distance Entrance Exam
Preparatory Class and 1st Year Entry
The competition is the same for those who want to enter Preparatory Class or 1st Year. It takes place at a distance in two stages: admissibility and admission.
consists of two tests to be completed in February at a distance:
– a file consisting of the response to various tasks
(photographs, drawings, storyboards, etc.) from a subject given by the school
– and a portfolio of personal works (« artbook »)
Based on the results of the admissibility tests, a first selection of candidates will be made.
Candidates who have passed this stage will take part in the admission test, which consists of an interview, on site or at a distance, with members of the teaching team.
REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAM:
Online registration will open on the website on January 6. Registration closes on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

DETAILS OF THE EXAMS
ADMISSIBILITY: THE CREATIVE PROJECT
From the subject given on February 3rd, you will have to create a creative portfolio including
various elements including an introductory text, photographs, an observational drawing in black and white and a second in colour, an illustrative, creative illustration, a small narrative presented either in a story-board, a comic strip or a photo-novel.
– Ability to structure a project and arrange a comprehensive portfolio.
– Ability to reproduce as many shapes as possible, while preserving their respective proportions and positions in space.
– Ability to build an original composition and use colours in an evocative way.
– Narrative and dramatizing skills.
ADMISSIBILITY: THE PORTFOLIO
Your personal portfolio must include at least twenty varied individual works with observational drawings, original drawings in colour, and any other personal productions: photography, sculpture, animation, comics…
ADMISSION: THE INTERVIEW
The interview aims to understand your motivations and your interest in the animation sector. The interview also aims to test your curiosity for any form of cultural practice, your capacities for reflection, and analysis.
