MoPA 2025: A Magical Evening Under the Stars of Arles
On Friday, June 20, 2025, the Ancient Theater of Arles was once again transformed into an open-air cinema, welcoming over 2,000 spectators for the unmissable end-of-year screening by the 3D animation school MoPA. This tradition has become a true cultural event in the region, where emotion, pride, and wonder take center stage.
The evening began in a perfect summer atmosphere, under a starry sky and accompanied by the gentle song of cicadas — all the right conditions for an unforgettable open-air screening. From 9 p.m., families, friends, alumni, and cinema enthusiasts filled the stone stands of the theater, eager to discover the students’ work.
Over the course of 90 minutes, the audience enjoyed a selection of films created throughout the year by MoPA students. The highlight of the evening was the premiere screening of the nine graduation films by the fifth-year (M5) students, shown on the big screen for the very first time. These short films — the result of months of intense work — showcased the high artistic and technical standards of the MoPA program. Each film moved, surprised, amused, or provoked thought, revealing the boundless creativity and deep sensitivity of this new generation of filmmakers.
More than just a screening, this evening marked the end of an intense academic journey and the beginning of a new professional adventure for these newly graduated students. It was also a powerful moment of sharing — between classmates, teachers, families, and loyal spectators who return year after year.
A huge congratulations to all MoPA students for their dedication, passion, and creativity. Thanks to them, MoPA once again shone under the stars of Arles, reaffirming its place among the world’s leading animation schools.
See you in 2026 for a new edition — and new stars to discover on the big screen.
