For the 2025–2026 school year, MoPA once again places great emphasis on teaching students all aspects of creating an animated film and nurturing the future talents of tomorrow. Here’s what awaits students in this new year.

 

MoPA’s Teaching Is Built on Six Pillars, Which New Students Will Gradually Discover :

• Immersive, Project-Based Learning

Both programs (3D Animation and Stop Motion) are organized around real projects from the very first years of study. Students get to create short films, carry out design exercises, develop visual prototypes, and more. The goal is to cover the entire filmmaking chain — from scriptwriting and directing to art direction, production, post-production, and beyond.

• Professional Guidance & Active Teams

Most instructors are industry professionals from animation or film, sharing both technical expertise and insights into studio realities and expectations. Their passion imparts valuable skills to our students. Meanwhile, the pedagogical teams stay closely involved to support students throughout their journey.

• Progressive Specialization & Advanced Techniques for a Secure Future

In the 4th and 5th years, the 3D Animation curriculum offers advanced technical modules: rigging, character animation (facial and body), expression, compositing, live-action integration, etc. Students work in a studio-like environment on larger-scale projects, including the graduation film, created collaboratively and representing the culmination of five years of rich learning.

• New Stop Motion Program

This year, MoPA has launched a dedicated Stop Motion track leading to a Level 6 RNCP certification for directing professions. It’s a three-year specialized program following a preparatory year, where students learn to build sets and puppets, master frame-by-frame capture, stage scenes, manage pacing, and more. This demanding technique allows the creation of highly aesthetic and sought-after works.

• Continuous Evaluation & Professional Feedback

While the MoPA curriculum culminates with the screening and defense of students’ films before a jury of industry professionals — such as Dylan Sisson from Pixar, president of the 2025 jury — earlier years are filled with workshops, masterclasses, and studio visits, ensuring constant contact with the professional world.

• International Exposure

Fifth-year students again have the opportunity to attend the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including MIFA, the key professional meeting point. Thanks to a strong network of partner schools abroad, students can opt for exchanges or internships worldwide. Many secure internships or employment abroad immediately after completing the program.
