VAE at MoPA

VAE is accessible to anyone, regardless of their age, level of education or status. All experience related to the targeted certification is taken into account, including volunteering.

This system is of particular interest for people who were unable to obtain the diploma initially envisaged, those who had to enter working life early and who have a career which was essentially built “in the field”.

A useful tool for career development, MoPA’s VAE enables you to:

• Enhance your skills in film animation and 3D creation,
• Make your professional career path more cohesive,
• Relaunch your career in the animation industry,
• Pre-empt/accelerate a job change,
• Change career direction.

The professional certification accessible via the MoPA School of 3D Film Animation VAE:

• The Expert Diploma in 3D Design, Production, and Animation is accredited by the French Minister of Higher Education (Master’s level, RNCP 39557 Level 7) by decree of 18/12/2023

General framework of program

The process of validating acquired experience requires 8 to 12 months of preparation from the candidate. It consists of the following stages:

1. Information on the VAE procedure and self-assessment of skills by the candidate (using the professional certification reference frameworks) to confirm their choice of diploma.
2. Eligibility Procedure: The candidate must submit an eligibility application (VAE Booklet 1), following a standard template provided by the School. After reviewing the application, the Eligibility Committee makes a decision based on:
   • The compliance of the portfolio with the regulatory requirements of the VAE.
   • The relevance of the experiences in relation to the targeted diploma.
3. Validation Procedure: Once the candidate’s eligibility is confirmed, they enter the phase of preparing their validation file (VAE Booklet 2), following a standard template provided by MoPA. This phase aims to demonstrate that the experience gained has enabled the candidate to master the competencies required for the targeted certification.
   The candidate may choose to be assisted in the Validation process (VAE Booklet 2) by an external organization.
4. VAE jury: the jury is made up of qualified teachers and professionals in the targeted specialism. The jury studies and evaluates the evidence file and interviews the candidate. After deliberation, the jury’s decision is communicated to the candidate no later than one week after the oral examination

Three decisions are possible:

• Full validation: the jury endorses the issuing of the targeted professional certification, or the targeted skill set.
• Partial validation: the jury grants the candidate part of the targeted diploma, but additional training and/or the writing of a dissertation, or the acquisition of further experience in a specific area, is required.
• No validation is granted.

VAE package without support:

• Application fee: 100€.
• Eligibility review (Eligibility process, Livret 1 VAE): 500€.
• Presentation to the VAE jury: 500€.

VAE package without support: EUR 1,100.
