MoPA School’s CSR Commitments

Preparing Animation Talent for Tomorrow’s Challenges

MoPA School has been committed for several years to a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental approach embedded in campus life, teaching practices and student production activities.

In an industry where technologies and production methods are constantly evolving, the school aims to help students understand the environmental challenges related to their future careers. This approach is structured around four complementary areas, ranging from education and production practices to digital use and the continuous improvement of the school’s practices.

1. Awareness and Education

Training future animation professionals also means enabling them to understand the challenges that are gradually transforming their industry. At MoPA, these considerations are integrated into the curriculum, encouraging students to reflect on the environmental impact of the methods, tools and practices they will use throughout their professional careers.

  • Planned introduction of a module dedicated to eco-production in animation.

  • Raising awareness among students and teaching staff about the environmental challenges associated with audiovisual and digital production.

  • Integrating reflection on the environmental impact of professional practices into teaching and educational projects.

2. Integrating Environmental Considerations into Student Productions

At MoPA, projects provide an ideal opportunity to put learning into practice. CSR considerations therefore naturally form part of student productions, encouraging students to reflect on how projects are designed, organised and produced while taking their various impacts into account. This approach enables students to explore responsibility through experimentation and teamwork, in situations that closely reflect those encountered throughout their studies.

  • Development of an internal “Responsible Production” guide for students and supervisors.

  • Organisation of CSR Lab’Days, bringing students together around projects incorporating the principles of corporate social responsibility.

3. Digital Sobriety and Responsible Resource Management

Digital technology plays a central role in the animation industry. Image creation, rendering, file storage and archiving are all part of everyday life for both students and professionals. These uses call for reflection on how digital resources are managed. MoPA therefore incorporates digital sobriety into its CSR approach, both through the management of its infrastructure and by raising awareness within its community of the environmental impacts associated with digital practices.

  • Implementation of measures aimed at optimising the energy consumption of IT infrastructure and rendering processes.

  • A responsible approach to data storage and archiving.

  • Raising awareness of the environmental footprint of digital technology and promoting best practices in digital sobriety.

4. Partnerships and Continuous Improvement

MoPA’s CSR approach is designed to evolve alongside industry practices and the discussions taking place within the school. It is therefore based on dialogue with specialised organisations, as well as on the involvement of staff and students. This continuous improvement approach enables environmental considerations to be progressively incorporated into educational practices and campus life, while supporting the evolution of professional practices within the animation industry.

  • Ongoing collaboration with Ecoprod to strengthen the school’s expertise in eco-production.

  • Regular integration of environmental considerations into educational discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support for student initiatives related to environmental issues and campus life.

Changing Practices, Starting with Education

Through these various commitments, MoPA is progressively integrating social and environmental considerations into its programmes and school life.

One of the key objectives is to help students better understand the impacts associated with their future careers and to familiarise them, from the outset of their education, with the discussions and pr
