« Le jour où j’ai léché un caillou » in the Official Selection at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival
The graduation film « Le jour où j’ai léché un caillou », created by 6 students from the 3D animation cinema school MoPA, has been making waves. For its twentieth festival selection, it has earned a well-deserved spot in the official selection of the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, one of the most prestigious events in global animation cinema.
« Le jour où j’ai léché un caillou »: a tribute to childhood
« This film is the image of a healthy and happy childhood in a safe place, where the greatest threat to children are the monsters they invent themselves. »
Here is the vision of the graduation film by Marie PIJOLLET, Flavie ELIEZER, Nathan JAUZE, Goli ATEFI, Maud KOLASA, and Chloé BERNUCHON, six graduates from the 3D animation cinema program of the 2025 class of MoPA.
This short film immerses us in the world of Pablo, Aïda, and Noam, three siblings who are bored at their grandmother's house on an ordinary summer afternoon in the countryside and decide to head to the bakery for a snack. The film's unique visual approach results from the fusion of a cartoon style for the characters and a subtle realism, all while showcasing the use of a handheld camera that adopts the perspective of a camcorder operated by the children themselves.
This graduation project highlights the creative talent of our young graduates as well as their mastery of 3D techniques, which has not gone unnoticed by professionals in the world of animation cinema.

With its official selection at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the short film once again confirms its quality and the excitement it generates within the international animation industry.
